How it’s laid out
- Groceries and everything else share one building. Food usually takes one side, with pharmacy, health and beauty, and electronics on the other.
- Coffee and tea often sit in the cereal aisle. Cooking oil, peanut butter and spices tend to share the baking aisle.
- International foods get one aisle, where you’ll find soy sauce, salsa kits and instant noodles side by side.
- Plants, soil and patio gear live in a garden centre, often with its own door.
